The Newtest 2012 suite from ip-label is about to be enriched with a new module, Newtest BI. This new module will round out Newtest Reporting which comprises some fifty pre-formatted reports. Newtest BI allows customers to create their own custom reports by selecting the data they wish to view (measurements, times, indicators, etc.) and choosing graphical displays for them from a vast graphics library.

Petr Votava, TSP DATA, a.s. systems architect, recently extended its colletcion of certificates in the field of  management tools, mainly OSS products from the IBM Tivoli family. Petr sucessfuly passed certification tests adressing one of IBM Tivoli family products -  Tivoli Network Manager (TNM).

Network Manager (formerly Netcool/Precision) is automatic network discovery and topology-based management software designed to help organizations improve network visibility and drive reliability and performance. It provides real-time network discovery, topology visualization and root cause analysis for layer 1, 2 and 3 networks, including IP, Ethernet, and multiprotocol label switching (MPLS). It’s designed to help visualize and better understand complex networks, to help focus time and attention on root cause events. Real-time root-cause analysis helps operations personnel quickly identify the source of network faults and speed problem resolution.

Unformal cooperation between our company and the vendor IP-label in terms of several projects was at these days also covered in on a formal basis: TSP DATA gained the status “Certified IP-label Partner for Czech and Slovak Republic”. This cooperation reflects the trends in the field of monitoring systems:  original approach of many organizations was to get fast information about the IT infrastructure malfunctions (= fault management) shifts now to tools anabling organizations to be pro-actively informed about the threds, not only for the infrastructure, but also for IT applications (= application performance monitoring). We also speak about End-to-End monitoring (E2E), it means about the application monitoring, as percieved by  the user.

In these days, our company acquired certification „Acronis Certified Partner“. This certfication is valuation for the long partnership with Acronis, based on already implemented customer projects. Acronis is a leading producer of backup software which is dedicated for servers, workstations, virtual servers, MS SQL, MS Exchange and other systems. Acronis product portfolio is a convenient extension of our offer for the virtualisation projects based on VMware (our virtualisation partner). After “Backup & Recovery™ 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition” from Acronis received the label “VMware ready” this April, it bacame the only product on the backup and recovery market based on imaging cartified for VMware infrastructure.

Acronis passed through the VMware test series allowing him to be listed in the VMware partners catalogue. These tests guarantee, that Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition is able to utilise VMware technology without any risks and that it  is a proven, reliable and scalable solution. These enhancements are part of updated release 2, which is available on the market since this April.

This new release offeres unique approach to the virtual machine backup.  Instead of backup of virtual disk files (.vmdk) only, Acronis solution is able to anlalyze the volume and file structure and backup the virtual machine in the same way how the physical machine is backed up. Virtual machine back up can also be recovered both in a physical machine and in other virtual machine.
